SALES OF THE URANTIA BOOK
In paper version: For the 2022 financial year, the Urantia Foundation sold a little more than 24,000 Urantia books in all languages, a slight increase compared to 2021. In detail: 9,789 in English, 5,973 in Spanish, 4,213 in Portuguese, 1,685 in French totaling 21,660 and the other languages sharing the remainder of the 2,340 books.
In electronic version: For the 2022 financial year, 4,286 electronic books were sold in all languages.
Free download: all languages combined, The Urantia Book has been downloaded 77270 times.
¶ NEW APPLICATION FOR ANDROID
After several years of development, the Foundation is proud to announce the availability of a new Android application of the Urantia Book, completely free for smartphones and tablets running Android. It is available for download on Google Play
Reminder: for those who have an Apple iPhone, there is also a free version available for download from the Apple Store with the same functions.
5. The Urantia Papers. The papers, of which this is one, constitute the most recent presentation of truth to the mortals of Urantia. These papers differ from all previous revelations, for they are not the work of a single universe personality but a composite presentation by many beings. But no revelation short of the attainment of the Universal Father can ever be complete. All other celestial ministrations are no more than partial, transient, and practically adapted to local conditions in time and space. While such admissions as this may possibly detract from the immediate force and authority of all revelations, the time has arrived on Urantia when it is advisable to make such frank statements, even at the risk of weakening the future influence and authority of this, the most recent of the revelations of truth to the mortal races of Urantia. ¶ Grant program
Thanks to specific donations and to fulfill its mission, Urantia Foundation set up in 2022 a grant program called the “Mustard Seed Grant Program” (MSGP) which can be translated as “Mustard Seed” Grant Program with reference to the following quote:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man sowed in his field. Now a mustard seed is the smallest of seeds; but when it has fully grown, it becomes the largest of plants and resembles a tree, so that the birds of the air come and rest in its branches.”
This program is managed by a committee of 6 people, all volunteer members of Urantia Foundation, and is co-directed by two trustees. Its purpose is to financially support projects presented by groups or individual initiatives that are part of the policy of disseminating the teachings of The Urantia Book. More specifically, the grants will support projects that advance education and dissemination in a tangible and measurable way by sowing The Urantia Book and its teachings throughout the world.
The application process for the first 2023 grant cycle closed in January. Twenty-nine initial proposals were received. 18 of these proposals were able to complete the application process and were considered by the committee. These 18 proposals totaled more than $360,000.
After review, the committee recommends funding for eight projects, representing six countries. Some of the projects are recommended with modified grant amounts lower than those initially requested. All of the selected projects total $61,667.19.
The selected and accepted projects are:
For the USA:
- Financial assistance for a project that seeks to prepare motivated students to effectively present the ideas and ideals of the Urantia Revelation to people of all cultures. (Elisabeth Callahan)
- Financial assistance for the creation of audio recordings for four novels based on The Urantia Book (Rick Warren)
- This project aims to publish, proclaim, promote and disseminate the revelation and its teachings through a music-based ministry tour (11 events) throughout California, in areas close to existing study groups. (Pat Banton)
For Africa:
- Financial assistance for a school of Progressive Divine Wisdom in Senegal (Moustapha N’Diaye), This project requests technical assistance for teachers/facilitators in order to continue to promote a pedagogical teaching method, allowing a better understanding and greater dissemination of the truths of the Urantia Book.
- Financial assistance to host three consecutive annual conferences in Lagos, Nigeria, with the following objectives: to consolidate the readership base in Nigeria and to encourage other seekers of truth to meet with readers of The Urantia Book. (Emeka Anazodo)
For Canada:
- This proposal is to produce two high-quality videos to disseminate The Urantia Book and its teachings. (Gary Tonge — Living Bridge Production)
For Spain:
- The Urantiapedia project aims to become a vast repository of knowledge about The Urantia Book, an open-source online encyclopedia that aids in the dissemination and understanding of the revelation. This project aims to offer a wide range of content on a single website, in multiple languages, including illustrations, audio files, links to various topics, links to the Bible and to other books, maps and websites.
For the Philippines.
- This project aims to fund technical support to have a stronger Internet connection to meet with members of the Urantia study group and to produce and upload four short popularization videos.
