From his birth Jesus is both man and God.
From the moment we are born we also have a divine personality.
At about age 5, Jesus received an Adjuster.
Around the age of 5, humans receive an Adjuster.
So what makes the difference between Jesus and us?
His divine nature as Creator Son is complete, present, capable of being exercised at any moment. That is to say, Jesus could have exercised his creativity at any moment of his life or, as the Gnostic gospels say, performed “miracles” from his childhood. But the supposed miracles of Jesus in these gospels are totally ridiculous and unworthy.
But things do not happen that way. The divine personality is not “manifest” throughout the first part of Jesus’ life, it is latent.
The discovery of this divine personality was one of the major pursuits of the child and then of the young man.
It was only around the age of 10 that Jesus became aware of a special mission that he had to fulfill, but he then reasoned as the Son of God, inhabited by an Adjuster, he did not yet know that he was the Creator Son. (cf: UB 124:2.1)
The only extraordinary event in his childhood life took place at the age of 13 when a messenger from Emmanuel appeared to him and said: “The hour has come. It is time for you to start taking care of your Father’s business.” (UB 124:6.15)
In his fifteenth year he still does not know in what form he will have to accomplish his mission as an educator. He adopts the title of Son of Man. He does not yet know that he is the Creator Son.
At sixteen he thought of undertaking his ministry of public life as master of the truth and revealer of the heavenly Father to the world. (UB 127:1.7) He still did not know that he was the Creator Son.
At nineteen, he only speaks to Rebecca, who would like to have him as her husband, about the indecision of his career as the son of destiny.
Jesus does not yet know his status as Creator Son.
The Urantia Book has a phrase that characterizes the dual nature in Joshua’s experience.
"He never doubted his human nature; it was obvious, and he was always aware of it. As for his divine nature, there was always room for doubt and hypothesis; at least that remained true until the event that occurred at his baptism. (UB 128:1.8)
Thus, one might believe that he only recognized his nature as Creator Son at the time of his baptism. This is not the case.
It is probable that his consciousness of being the Father of Nebadon came gradually through the perception of his potentialities. We are told that in his twenty-sixth year: Jesus became keenly conscious of possessing a very extensive potential power. He was also fully persuaded that this power was not to be used by his personality as the Son of Man, at least until his hour had come. (UB 128:7.1)
In the twenty-seventh year Jesus made great progress in the ascending mastery of his human mind…(UB 129:1.14)
Finally, we are informed that it was at the end of his Mediterranean journey that he knew - with all human certainty - that he was a Son of God, a Creator Son of the Universal Father. (UB 129:3.9)
However, proof of this certainty is only given to us during the stay on Mount Hermon where Jesus addresses Satan and Caligastia, representing Lucifer, saying: May the will of the Father of Paradise prevail and, as for you, my rebellious son, may the Ancients of Days judge you divinely. I am your Creator-Father… (UB 134:8.7)
Following the vision and hearing of his baptism, Jesus, now fully aware of his potential, must choose as quickly as possible not to use his divine nature and this is what he does during the 40 days spent in the hills north of Pella. This non-use of his divine strength will go as far as accepting death on the cross.
Let us return to the difference envisaged at the very beginning. We can, we must, also discover our divine filiation while living a human life. But we will not discover in ourselves the potentialities of Creator Son, we will discover what we really are, the potentialities of sons of God by faith.
Just like Jesus, we must master our mind and develop our soul, however we know that this soul is only in an embryonic state. The Adjuster does represent our true divine self, but it will not be an integral part of us until after the fusion. In other words, unlike Jesus our divine nature is neither complete nor truly present and it is not creative but simply co-creative.
It is over a long period, of which life on earth is the prelude, that our potential for divinity will be actualized and it is with fusion that it will be eternalized. However, it is here, on this planet, that this long journey must begin and nothing authorizes us to wait to set off on our journey. We must make decisions, more decisions and always decisions, with sincerity, more sincerity and always sincerity.
