Jairus was one of the leaders of the new synagogue in Capernaum. [1] Jesus healed Jairus's daughter from a coma, although the healing was always considered a resurrection by witnesses. [2] Jerusalem leaders worked to dissuade Jairus from allowing Jesus into the synagogue. [3] He resigned as chief leader and openly aligned himself with Jesus. [4]
