Men often seek to escape the rigors of truly religious activities through resorting to a retreat to the false shelter of stereotyped religious doctrines and dogmas. [13] Primitive communism put a premium on inactivity and idleness, stifling industry and ambition, ultimately giving way to a higher social order. [14] The profit motive keeps otherwise slothful individuals hard at work, but it does not need to remain selfish in its objectives. [15]
Do not be passive dreamers, supinely trusting in a fictitious Providence, but be valiant defenders of righteousness and aggressive preachers of the gospel. [16]
